Even minor flaws in your smile can feel like a big deal. Frankly, anything that keeps you from sharing your smile with ease and confidence is worth addressing. That is where dental bonding comes in. At TruGlo Modern Dental in Beverly Hills, our teeth bonding treatments are designed to have you smiling freely again.

What Is Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding involves using a special tooth-colored resin to cover, repair, or reshape a tooth. We can shape the resin to blend in seamlessly, so no one can see where your natural tooth ends and the bonding begins. While bonding has functional benefits, most patients choose it as a cosmetic treatment. The treatment requires only a single visit, making it a rapid solution for a range of cosmetic concerns. You can even treat more than one tooth per visit.

Dental Bonding FAQs

What is the process like?
  • Consultation + Exam: Dental bonding is open to many patients, but we want to ensure it is the right solution for you. Your exam involves a full consultation and evaluation to determine your best path forward.
  • Preparing the Tooth: Depending on the state of the tooth, some of it may need to be removed, such as any decay. We then roughen up the tooth surface to better adhere to the bonding material.
  • Applying the Bonding Material: Next, we apply the resin directly to the tooth and begin shaping it. The final shape will look like your natural tooth, both in shape and color.
  • Hardening + Polishing: We then harden the material with a special UV light. Finally, your specialist will polish the bonding material into its final shape. When you bite down, your teeth should feel entirely normal. By the time you leave the office, your smile will look restored.

Bonding offers patients a quick and cost-effective solution for improving their smile’s appearance. However, we want to take the time to ensure it is the right fit for you. Bonding works best for patients who have mild to moderate cosmetic concerns and want a rapid solution.

Dr. Rhonda Kalasho will personally consult with each patient to match them with their ideal treatment. You always have the final say in your plan. • Dental Veneers: Porcelain shells placed over teeth to improve shape, cover stains, or fill gaps. Very durable, with results that can last over 10 years.
  • Inlays or Onlays: Molded material placed in or over a tooth to repair damage.
  • Teeth Whitening: Lifts stains from teeth using medical-grade materials. Results can last from several months to years.

Dental bonding tends to last between 3 and 10 years for most patients. That is quite the spread. The good news is that you can significantly influence how long your bonded tooth looks at its best. Steps you can take to prolong your bonding results can include:

  • Avoiding hard foods
  • Brushing your teeth twice daily (ideally after meals)
  • Flossing at least once daily
  • Visiting your dentist for routine check-ups
  • Avoiding foods and beverages that can stain or discolor teeth

Dental bonding may be reimbursed by insurance in some cases. When bonding is needed for repairing a structural issue, some insurance providers may cover it. When bonding serves a cosmetic purpose alone, most providers do not cover it.

Regardless of coverage, we offer patients TruGlo Membership plans. Each tier comes with unique benefits, including discounts on cosmetic treatments. Call our office to join today and save on our full suite of treatment options.
